Autobiography of a 100-year-old Ugandan man

Genre/year: Autobiography. 2017

When Canon Koliabu Maswere turned 100 years old in 2017, he did not jump out of a window and leave his long-suffering wife Ludiya (93 years old) at their Busano house in Mbale, East Africa so he could go to Church where he had been a choir master since 1977. Instead, he woke up at 6.30 am as he had done for the last many years and polished his shoes and waited for the celebration to start.

This book was edited and published by D Wasake (the author's grandson with assistance from Geofrey Makyeme, the author's son) and it tells the story of this 100-year-old man as juxtaposed with Ugandan key matters. It has numerous photos and an Appendix of key events in Uganda to help provide perspective. KM (as he is fondly known) has more than 50 grandchildren.
